As we all know, we Realtors want everything yesterday, so it is comforting to know you have someone who understands that; who is flexible and willing to adapt to the urgency and last minute changes that happen with real estate transactions.
I have known Steve Surette for several years while working in the real estate industry. I have worked with Steve and his company Equity Home Repairs on several transactions as well.
I am currently working in CENTURY 21 Scheetz’s relocation department and I manage vacant properties as well as homes owned and controlled by corporate relocation companies. Steve and his company EHR, have made my job very easy when it comes to inspection repairs and general property maintenance.
Because of Steve’s knowledge of the inspection industry, he knows exactly what most typical inspectors will call out and what their terminology means on their reports. I can send Steve the full report with photos and the “laundry” list of requests and he knows exactly how to handle it. He has been especially helpful on the report items, where the inspector will note things need “further evaluation” or where the inspectors aren’t real specific about what is wrong and you basically need a second opinion or (qualified) contractor to determine what the problem may be (if any).
Steve also has a good resource of people to provide quotes in areas that he may not be an expert in or in larger jobs like siding replacement, exterior painting or roofs. This helps me, because I don’t have to schedule 4 different companies to estimate on one property.
I’ve compared his quotes to other contractors and have found him to be very reasonable and pretty much the same as everyone else. The ease of getting estimates, the personal contact and quick response time from Steve and his company really make it a no-brainer.

Last year I worked with over 80 corporate listings.
Marketing and negotiating is the easy part. It's getting past the
inspections that has become my biggest nightmare. Buyers have laundry
lists of inspection requests. Corporate clients want estimates for
everything before making a response. Trying to coordinate plumbers,
electricians, roofers, HVAC and other contractors for estimates can
be overwhelming. Equity Home Repairs has made real estate life a
lot simpler by being my one stop shopping for estimates. I can e-mail
the buyers requests to Equity and usually within 48 hours I have
an estimate. There are occasions where my clients offer repair credits
based on the estimates, but I have also been able to utilize Equity
to follow through with completing the repairs. Their work has always
been timely and professionally completed. Buyers are happy and I
don't get any call backs!
